Types of Valuations
MARKET/PROBATE VALUATION
Market or probate valuation is based upon validation of one’s opinion of what item may reasonably be expected to realize in the auction. This value does not consider one’s views as to insurance of the replacement value and any other values for that matter. SUPERANNUATION VALUATIONS
Superannuation valuation is being done for the purpose of superannuation and is carried on the basis as to how much value will get realized during the public auction. This value also, does not take consider any insurance of the replacement value and any other value for other purposes
INSURANCE VALUATION
Insurance valuation is different from the above two valuations as they are based after considering insurance value and is based on one’s opinion of how much would it cost either if it is being manufactured or being replaced with a similar item having similar properties and in a similar condition. This valuation is done after researching the available facts and does not represents any individual’s opinion and should not be consider for sale or any other purposes.
MATRIMONIAL VALUATION
This type of valuation is done to ascertain the exact value of an item. Several items may appear identical, but their monetary value may vary and this valuation thorough research is carried out and based on the research actual valuation of the jewellery is quoted. The amount parroted does not depend upon one’s view rather it is based on thorough study of the facts provided and shall not be considered as our view for insurance and other related matters.

MARKET/PROBATE VALUATION
INTERIORS & JEWELLERY
At Australian Jewellery Auction, Market or Probate valuations are held on Mondays (9am to 4 pm) and on Fridays (8:30am – 4pm). The oral valuation service does not involve any costs and the clients are provided with an estimate of what item are to be expected to realize at the auction and also, there is no compulsion to hand over goods.
If clients request for a written valuation then an official fee of Should clients request a written $110 per item or $220 per hour or a percentage of value, whichever is higher will be charged and the valuation is being provided within 10 working days of onsite valuation.
INSURANCE/SUPERANNUATION VALUATION
Insurance and Superannuation valuations at Australian Jewellery Auctions are carried out by appointment on Mondays (9am – 4pm) and Fridays (8:30am – 4pm). A fee of $110 per item, $220 per hour or a percentage of value, whichever is higher is charged against these services. This fee includes 2 different kinds of valuations and are provided within 10 working days of onsite valuation. To carry out jewellery valuations at Australian Jewellery Auctions, jewellery is required to remain onsite for 10 working days.
** Please be informed that valuation time may vary as per the volume of valuation that is more time is being devoted if the valuation is larger or more and costs may also vary accordingly.

MARKET/PROBATE/SUPERANNUATION/INSURANCE VALUATIONS
Australian Jewellery Auctions also provide services at your doorstep. If someone wants to get their jewellery valuated on the basis of Market/ Probate/Superannuation/ Insurance valuations, an hourly fee of $220 per hour with a minimum charge of one hour or a proportion of value whichever is higher is being charged. If more than one valuation specialist is required, then the fee shall be charged per specialist. The fee is inclusive of an account offered at the conclusion of the appointment and two typed valuations will be provided within the next 10 working days of such appointment. An additional travel fee of $110 per hour is being charged for projects outside Melbourne and these fee are non-refundable. Also, if the property has been entrusted with Australian Jewellery Auctions within 3 month of appointment, a rebate of $220 shall be given for every $2000 sold at the auction.
***Jewellery MARKET Valuation Disclaimer: The value as stated for the foregoing item/s is for the purpose of market and is based on our opinion of what it would be worth on an open second hand market within Australia. The amount does not represent our view as to the value for insurance or for any other purpose. Australian Jewellery Auctions uses a full range of gemmological equipment including acid testing, diamond probe, scales, microscope. Secondary testing using specialist equipment such as x-ray may reveal substandard metal materials for which Australian Jewellery Auctions holds no such responsibility. All stones weights are approximates due to the limitation imposed on measuring stones within their mounts. For accurate weights all stones would need to be removed from their settings.

MATRIMONIAL VALUATIONS
For Matrimonial valuations, a joint letter of approval will be required before any further appointments can be fixed. There is a charge of $550 per hour which is going to be charged against this service, with a minimum of 1 hour. Under this fee, a 2 typed valuation will be provided within 10 working days of such appointment. Jewellery valuations will be conducted onsite at our office by appointment only and Australian Jewellery Auction is required to keep the jewellery with them for 10 working days. These valuations require prepayment.
